On November 30, 2019, the Chinese Vacuum Society held the Ninth National Congress of Membership at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. A total of 185 members of the Society’s directors and representatives of group members from all over the country attended the conference.
At the meeting, Academician Xu Ningsheng, Chairman of the Board, delivered a work report on behalf of the 8th Council, and comprehensively reviewed and summarized the key work of the Council over the past five years. Delegates at the meeting agreed that the report summarizes the results and seeks truth from facts, points out that the problems are objective and concrete, and the suggestions are pragmatic and feasible.
Subsequently, the conference elected the Ninth Council of the Chinese Vacuum Society, the Standing Council, the new Board of Supervisors, and the new party secretary, deputy secretary, and party committee members. Academician Gao Hongjun, deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected as the chairman of the 9th council, and 9 people including Academician Peng Lianmao of Peking University, Academician Zhao Hongwei of the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chairman Zhang Yongming of Chinese Academy of Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chairman Jiang Yourong of Zhejiang VALUE were elected as the No. Vice Chairman of the Ninth Council.
As a modern basic science closely integrated with applied science, vacuum technology is widely used in aerospace, semiconductors, new energy, new materials, energy saving and environmental protection and other high-end manufacturing equipment fields, in order to promote the development of the national economy and enrich the people’s beauty. Make positive contributions to living, strengthening our country’s comprehensive national strength, and building a modern and powerful socialist country.
