Advantages of Dry Screw Vacuum Pumps in the Field of Vacuum Drying

Table of Content [Hide]

Vacuum drying technology, also known as analytical drying technology, works by placing materials in a negative-pressure environment. Through heating, the material reaches its boiling point under reduced pressure, or through cooling, it reaches its melting point under reduced pressure. In this way, efficient drying of the material can be achieved.

At present, vacuum drying technology has matured within the drying industry and plays an irreplaceable role across various fields. It is especially prominent in food production, where the drying of natural extracts often requires gentle conditions since the bioactive components of natural products cannot withstand high temperatures. In this respect, vacuum drying technology offers significant advantages.

The dry screw vacuum pump is a vacuum device that generates suction and exhaust by means of a pair of screws rotating synchronously and at high speed in opposite directions inside the pump casing. Due to its structural characteristics, the screws do not rub against each other during operation, ensuring smooth performance. The working chamber requires no lubricating oil, and the pump operates with low noise.

Because of its unique structural design, the dry screw vacuum pump possesses distinct technical advantages not found in other vacuum pumps.

Key Advantages of Dry Screw Vacuum Pumps

    • Corrosion Resistance – The working chamber and screw rotors are typically coated with an anti-corrosion layer, specifically designed for harsh operating environments, which greatly reduces the impact of environmental conditions on vacuum drying processes.

    • No Compression of Gas – The gas inside a dry screw vacuum pump does not require compression, allowing the pump to extract condensable vapors. Since no oil is used, there is no risk of oil leakage.

    • Simple Structure and Easy Maintenance – The external structure of the pump is relatively simple, making it convenient to maintain.

    • Environmentally Friendly – The extracted gas is discharged directly from the pump body, avoiding water pollution and placing no burden on the environment.

In vacuum drying applications, when facing complex working conditions such as a mixture of oil, water, and particulates within the materials being dried, dry screw vacuum pumps demonstrate clear advantages. As an upgraded alternative to traditional mechanical vacuum pumps, they have broad market application prospects.
